Sweet Friends

Hong Kong is such a transient place that you can’t be here very long without having to say goodbye to someone. We have certainly said some difficult goodbyes throughout our 7 years here, though the goodbye always feels different when you are the one to leave. There’s the excitement of what is next, but the fear of leaving behind everything known.

Josiah and Sun have been friends since P1. He once told me, “Mom, it’s just so easy to talk to her.”

These sweet friends have also faced more than their share of teasing. Their mutual love of reading and random adventure has kept them connected.

We all long for that one friend who just gets us. Who is easy to be around. Where we can reflect our true self.

Sometimes those friendships grow over time. But other times we are blessed with immediate connection. I think that is true for both adults and children.

The kids have been praying about making new friends in Chiang Mai, but we never want to forget the friendships here that have meant so much.

    1. Actually, it hasn't happened yet! I've been trying to start blogging again before writing a post about our upcoming move and then linking to Facebook. I assumed there aren't too many people left who are paying attention to this blog, but I'm glad to know there may be a few. :) We move in July!
