Little Fishies
Josiah has been in a swim class at the Y for the last 2 months. Today was the final class and Nathan took him so that I could take some pictures. Whenever we told Josiah that we were going to the pool, he always replied "sing!" because there was lots of singing done in the pool. Below, everyone is sitting along the side singing "This is the way we wash our legs, wash our legs, wash our legs..." before getting into the pool.
The song Josiah hated was "Twinkle Twinkle" because the parents were supposed to lay their children back in the water and get their heads wet. Josiah doesn't like the helpless feeling he gets when he lies down on the ground (making diaper changes very fun), much less in the water. His favorite song was "Pop Goes the Weasel" because the parents would hold a ball down under water and let it pop up into the child's face at the appropriate time.
Wow, those are great jumping photos! Go Joe!
ReplyDeletei love the tongue out in the third picture...very jordanesque.
ReplyDeleteand this is his proud father!
loved the little fishie and the giant shark counterpart (aka "daddy")...his love for water is obvious...loved the fireman shots too and the leaves....and all the days in the life of joe...thanks for sharing so much...love you, nana
ReplyDeleteWhy does the jumping into the water without hesitation not surprise me? :) I still recall, with much embarrassment, Travis' "laid back approach" to retrieving Josiah when he fell to his knees in the lake. :) Josiah will be swimming laps by next summer! :) All by himself! :)
