Crawling

Breath in. Breath out.

Saturday afternoon at a retreat in the mountains. Lovely. Life is finally at a crawling pace, at least for the next few hours. Nathan is the speaker this weekend at a friend's junior high retreat. A free afternoon, a walk in the woods, a sleeping baby, air conditioning, and internet. Excellent.

So although we've been staying busy, I feel like we are crawling along in the packing process. We are out of our apartment, but still left with a pile of stuff to sort through. It will obviously get done this week, along with all the goodbyes that still need to be said.

Though these last few weeks have been somewhat hectic and this week will likely be also, it is good to serve an amazing God who provides in so many ways. We have been so blessed during our 5 years in California and we leave knowing that we are loved and appreciated. God is good to bless us with that, because we have done nothing to deserve it.

Now on to the baby, who is not actually crawling yet, but is getting really close. Or at least I think he's getting close. Maybe they stay at this stage for a while. In any case, I will be enjoying my last few days/weeks of having a non-mobile child! (Though I suppose he is already somewhat mobile as he rolls and scoots and such.)

Here are a couple of videos of the action and then some recent pictures.

Josiah playing in an empty apartment.

This is what Josiah decided to do shortly before we needed to leave for the retreat this weekend. He actually managed to get it out both the front and the back, but I'll spare you additional pictures. He hadn't done this in a while, so I suppose we were due.

Baby on hands and knees.

Baby playing on bed.

Smiley baby.

  2. Yeah, great shot of Josiah on the verge of mobility. The backside is motoring but the front is still digging in and making things frustrating. Eventually, the arms will cooperate and off he will go, and not look back!
