9 Months

Josiah is 9 months! He still hasn't been out quite as long as he was in, but close enough. Crazy!! I finally got around to calling a pediatrician today, so I will report the official 9ish month measurements on October 1.

It was pretty much right at 8 months that he started truly crawling and right at 9 months that he has begun to stand unsupported for several seconds at a time. He has also managed to get himself up on the second step. I'm really not anxious for him to walk, so hopefully that can wait until at least 10 months, if not 11!

Here are 2 videos of some of the new alone standing:

At 9 months, Josiah loves to pull up on any and everything. He loves to listen to Daddy play guitar and Mommy play piano. He has even started to "sing" when we sing. We hope he gets better... he's not very good yet. :)

But until he gets some music lessons, he creates his own instruments. Here's a video of Josiah humming into a plastic tube.

Josiah also loves to be outside. He usually requires a pacifier outside so that he explores the leaves and grass and acorns and bugs and sticks with only his hands. Here he and Papa are watching airplanes and birds.

These next 3 pictures are from today. Here's Josiah before his afternoon nap.

And here he is afterwards. Much better! :)

And this is what his feet look like after a day of vigorous baby activity!

  1. he is growing so fast!! it blows my mind, anyway, i must say that it is my professional belief that your son will be a musical maniac... just like his parents, and while him blowing into plastic tube is impressive, i am pretty posicore that he will blow the minds of millions with his greatness in the near future... oh, lol, Everett says HI! (and he plans on going to college)
