This past week...
I know that the meanings associated with the phrases "last week" and "this past week" can be confusing, but our exact itinerary over the last few weeks isn't important. Basically, after we left NJ, this is what we did...
We went to this church in West Virginia.
And we saw some of these people in the picture below. Though obviously not at the beach as the picture suggests. Because there is no beach is WV.
And it was great. We were blessed by the local body of believers and shared with them ways that God is moving around the world. And we watched football.
Then we went and saw these people. They live on a military base and we learned all kinds of top secret things about the military. Or not. But they had just moved into their house 3 days before we got there, yet things were super clean, organized, and lovely. I was impressed. Josiah liked having a friend his size... because he suddenly had power over someone else. He spent most of his time taking things away from Seth. Thankfully, Seth isn't old enough yet to realize exactly what Josiah was doing, so he simply had fun crawling after Joe.
Then we went to Uncle Dave and Aunt Mary's house. We have a few pictures of our time there, but none of them. So sorry! We do have this video of Josiah playing a trumpet:
It snowed 8 inches in 8 hours on our full day there. So Nathan went out to build a snowman. You know, a real one. If Josiah is 3 feet tall, then the snowman is...
or was supposed to be... really tall. Except that this is as far as we got. Because we were working at night. So we stopped and planned to put the head on the next morning. Unfortunately, the next morning was much colder and the snow wouldn't pack. So sad! Maybe someone else will finish the giant, headless snowman. By the way, I could barely reach the top of the second snow ball.
But even though the snow wouldn't pack that morning, it was beautiful outside! I took these pictures as we were driving away. And if they look this good taken inside a moving vehicle, imagine what it was really like!
So now we're back in South Carolina, where my parents are staying. It is a familiar place for Josiah and he is doing well. Though Daddy left for Michigan the morning after we got back here and Josiah definitely misses him. He knows Daddy went on an airplane, and so when we were outside playing he kept looking in the sky for Daddy. When he couldn't find an airplane, he would say, "I no see Daddy." So we're grateful for skype, grateful that Daddy will be back tomorrow, and grateful that God kept us safe on the road and continues to provide for our needs!
I am just in awe of you guys right now! God has certainly blessed you with patience and an adventuresome spirit to be in such transitions! We continually pray for your family as you continue this journey!
