Neighbors
A few weeks ago, a family from Sri Lanka moved in next door. They are refugees and have been in Hong Kong for several years. Dad speaks pretty good english, but unfortunately mom doesn't. All the kids go to local Cantonese speaking school and the oldest two (boy, 7? and girl, 5?) have a pretty good grasp of english. The youngest boy, 3, doesn't really speak any english and Josiah has referred to him as "the not speak english boy." Thankfully, young boys don't need language to have a good time.
But unfortunately, my little American child who has always liked his personal space was a bit overwhelmed during much of play time. And frustrated that the words "Please stop!" weren't having any impact.
The family is very sweet and brought us some of the food they made to celebrate Diwali last week.
Please pray for us as we interact with our new neighbors!
(By the way, Josiah is still sick. All this happened last week sometime.)
wow! its all so bright and colorful! looks like fun!
