Determination

If you can't get enough of this adorable little boy (or are just really bored), here are some videos that capture Josiah's spirit of determination (and a bit of pre-naptime fussiness). As you can see in the second video, Josiah is sitting pretty well by himself. He's still not steady enough to just plop on the floor and walk away, but he's getting close. I absolutely love watching him grow and develop!

In non-baby news... We have started to pack up the apartment, though there isn't much to actually pack since we won't be taking much with us. We're giving most of our furniture to friends, but getting rid of the small and random, but not useless, is the hard part for me. We don't have time, space, or energy to try and do a yard sale at this point, so I'm sure much of it will be donated somewhere. It's a bit hard to think so far into an unknown future and decide what we'll be able to take to Hong Kong, what we should try to take to Ohio, what we will need between Ohio and Hong Kong, etc. but overall, it's nice to simplify. This apartment has been a great home for the past year and a half, and I look forward to the next place we will make home!

  1. Wow. He is sitting up and everything. And who would have thought that hard toys are a good idea.

He's growing so fast. Its incredible. Also, in an earlier video, Alicia is saying that he had his first (that she has heard) consonant, specifically a voiced alveolar stop. ; ) alright josiah!

Yeah. Its tough to pack when you don't really know exactly what you are packing for.

  2. I just laughed to hear the determination and sheer abandon of the effort. If he had a strawberry between his eyes it would have been beet red!
And, ah yes, getting the stuff in boxes starts to make the move a bit more of a reality, doesn't it.
And I have a feeling that before its over, you will be somewhat of an expert in it.

    Just a guess!

  3. Determination is good. I'm glad to see Josiah is learning to act with purpose (even if he's not yet clear on what that purpose is).

Packing for a move is not the most fun thing to do. If I could help I would--but I guess that's not going to be a happening thing.

  4. I love seeing how Josiah is growing and developing. When he wants something he keeps on until he gets it...a very determined little fellow. Keep the videos and pictures coming.
I know moving is a hassle, but cleaning out and doing away with stuff is good to do every once in a while. Praying for a smooth transition to the next step.
